Meet Your Trainer!

Hi, I'm Sarah, founder and head trainer of Steady Strides Canine Training.

My passion for dog training began at a young age when I trained my first dog to become a therapy dog. Through that experience, I discovered how powerful the bond between a dog and their handler can be and how training can create confidence, trust, and meaningful connections. What started as a personal interest quickly grew into a passion for learning about canine behavior, communication, and training.

That passion became something much more meaningful when I began training and working with my own service dog, Obi. As a service dog handler, I have experienced firsthand the life-changing impact a well-trained dog can have. The partnership I built with Obi not only strengthened my appreciation for training but also inspired me to turn that passion into a career dedicated to helping other dogs and handlers succeed.

Over the years, I have gained hands-on experience through volunteering with animal welfare organizations, shadowing professional trainers, and continuing my education in canine behavior and training. These experiences taught me that successful training is about more than teaching commands—it's about building a strong partnership between dogs and the people who love them.

At Steady Strides Canine Training, I specialize in private, personalized training designed to help dogs and handlers succeed in real-world situations. Whether you're raising a new puppy, building better manners, preparing for therapy dog work, or working toward service dog goals, my approach focuses on clear communication, consistency, and positive learning experiences.

I believe every dog is an individual, and every training plan should be tailored to the needs of both the dog and the handler. My goal is to help clients build confidence, strengthen their relationship with their dogs, and achieve lasting results that fit their everyday lives.

When I'm not training, I'm completing my degree in Public Relations at the University of Florida and continuing to expand my knowledge of canine behavior and training. I am committed to lifelong learning and staying up to date on best practices so I can provide the best possible experience for every client.

I look forward to helping you and your dog take your next steps forward—together.
